The passing of a pet can be quite a traumatic experience for some people, celebrities included.  I saw a post over on Scott Adams’ blog about his cat yesterday.  Scott had to have his aged cat put to sleep because its health was failing so badly.

His blog post was remarkably heartfelt and well-written.  It surprised me, coming from a cartoonist known for his humor, just how poignant it was.  It reminded me of something I saw on The Tonight Show back when Johnny was still hosting it.

Jimmy Stewart was on as a guest and he read some of the poems that he wrote.  If you get a chance to see the whole show I higly recommend it.  In the mean time, I dare you to watch the clip below of his “Beau” poem and keep an entirely dry eye.
